Mann has Sureness primed for San Sebastian fling
Lambourn trainer Charlie Mann was busy yesterday applying factor 15 under the San Sebastian sun and hopes Sureness can pocket the thick end of £15,000 when she lines up in the Gran Premio Hotel Maria Cristina at the city's track today.
The daughter of High Chaparral will be Mann's first runner in Spain and the trainer is optimistic she can go close in the 11-furlong contest, which boasts prize-money of €30,600.
"It's quite warm out here, which is good," Mann said yesterday. "The ground's dried up nicely. It was a bit wet when we got here, but it's been warm the last two days and the horse looks fantastic.
