Lockinge Stakes: confirmed runners and riders as Laurens returns to action
Star filly Laurens will face a maximum of 13 rivals as she makes her first start of the season in Saturday's Al Shaqab Lockinge Stakes at Newbury.
The John Dance-owned four-year-old is set to bid for a sixth Group 1 success at Newbury, where she tackles stern opposition led by the former Andre Fabre-trained Le Brivido, who is in line to make his second start for Aidan O'Brien.
Beat The Bank and Lord Glitters, who were among the best milers in a wide-open division last year, feature in a field also containing the likes of Mustashry, Sharja Bridge and last season's Queen Anne winner Accidental Agent.
Le Brivido, third in last month's Gladness Stakes, leads the market at 7-2 from Laurens at 5-1, with Beat The Bank (7-1), Lord Glitters (8-1), Mustashry and Sharja Bridge (both 9-1) also quoted at single-figure prices.

Crystal Ocean is the 4-7 favourite for the Group 3 Al Rayyan Stakes (2.25), while US trainer Wesley Ward will have his first runner at Newbury after booking Frankie Dettori to ride Keeneland maiden winner Joker On Jack in the 6f conditions stakes (4.15).
The ground at Newbury was on Thursday morning described as good, good to firm in the back straight. The outlook is predominantly dry and sunny with the possibility of the odd shower on Friday.
