Lord Glitters will look to put the seal on David O'Meara's most profitable campaign with another valuable victory at Ascot in the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes on Saturday week.

Winner of the Queen Anne in June, Lord Glitters has been the chief contributor to O'Meara's achievement in surpassing £2 million in domestic prize-money for the first time, and a return to his beloved Ascot for £4.2m Qipco British Champions Day is now on the cards, with the QEII alone boasting a purse of £1.1m.

The six-year-old will be dropping back two and a half furlongs at Ascot after finishing sixth in the Juddmonte International Stakes at York in August.

"The QEII is the big target for him," said the trainer. "It's been well documented he loves Ascot, the only time he's finished out the first two there was in the QEII last year [sixth behind Roaring Lion], and he goes on any ground.

"He was in there with the best of them at York trying to get a mile and a quarter for the first time [in Britain] and the race wasn't really run to suit a hold-up horse. He was staying on pretty well at the end and we were happy with the run."

O'Meara, who recently recorded his 1,000th career victory having started out in 2010, is also considering the Breeders' Cup Mile for the Geoff and Sandra Turnbull-owned six-year-old, where he could be joined by stablemate Suedois, who was a gallant third in Sunday's Shadwell Turf Mile at Keeneland.

"Suedois was undone by the draw at Keeneland and ran a massive race to only be beaten by three-quarters of a length," said O'Meara. "Most of the American horses from the Shadwell Turf Mile will be going for the Breeders' Cup Mile and he was unlucky against them. If he gets into the race he would go over there again."
