Shishkin groom among riders in Newbury charity event

Jaydon Lee, the lucky groom who looks after Nicky Henderson superstars Shishkin and Constitution Hill, and Nicola Baker, the wife of retired Classic-winning jockey George, are among 12 riders taking part in a charity race at Newbury on Al Shaqab Lockinge day on Saturday.
The 1m2f contest, which Dani Jackson will call in an initiative to champion female commentators, takes place before racing at 12.35 and is in support of the Injured Jockeys Fund.
More than 100 IJF beneficiaries and supporters will be in attendance and the race will be screened live on Racing TV with highlights later on ITV.
"It's going to be a huge amount of fun and we hope these riders from all walks of life are going to have the day of their lives," said Lisa Hancock, the IJF's chief executive officer.
"Most importantly, they have worked so hard to raise money for us and we can't thank everyone who has supported this race enough, with a huge thank you to Newbury for hosting us so generously."
Lee will partner the Charlie Hills-trained Vaynor, while Baker is on Cliffs Of Capri.
Hannah Roche, Paul Nicholls' PA, is also participating and rides the Ditcheat trainer's Zoran.
Barrier trials set to return to Dundalk in July
Barrier trials will return to Dundalk in July after approval was granted for two dates in 2022.
The Irish EBF Barrier Trials are scheduled to take place on July 5 and August 30 and will be restricted to unraced two-year-olds and three-year-olds over distances of five, six and seven furlongs. Horses who are entered must be named, returned in training and have a stalls certificate.
The trials will be recorded and broadcast live on YouTube, while videos of each batch will be uploaded to social media channels immediately after each trial.
Irish Thoroughbred Marketing has run the barrier trials with the cooperation of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board and the Irish European Breeders' Fund since 2018. The trials are being run primarily to meet significant demand, both locally and abroad, for unraced horses.
