Inspector Lynley uncovered as guest commentator at Newmarket

Parker is famous for mysteries having played Inspector Thomas Lynley in the long-running BBC crime drama of the same name between 2001-2008.
Racing fan Parker, 55, has also played a range of roles in a long list of iconic films including the Body Guard, Beverly Hills Ninja and Hamlet. He also does regular voice-overs and audio work which should stand him in good stead on the Rowley Mile where he has been allotted the 6f handicap.
The competition, in aid of the very worthy beneficiaries of the 32Red Newmarket Open Weekend, will feature three Newmarket and three Lambourn-based trainers don the headsets for charity and the six are already in sight of raising their £5,000 target figure.
Jamie Osborne, Joe Tuite and Brendan Powell will represent the Valley of the Racehorse as Team Lambourn and Amy Murphy, Richard Spencer and Mark Tompkins will represent the Home of the Horseracing as Team Newmarket.
Parker said of the challenge: "I'm sure this will be a tremendous day. These are very important local charities that deserve the racing public's support. I only hope that I don't embarrass myself and manage to call home the right horses. Please come along for the ride."
The winner will be determined by the trainer who raises the most amount of money via JustGiving. The winning trainer will be honoured with the Julian Wilson award and the team of the winning trainer will win a free Christmas party package. To donate go to:
