Horse Racing Ireland has alerted the Gardai after Tammys Hill's microchip was discovered in another horse at a Swindon abattoir years after his death in the 2015 Irish Grand National, a matter that Fairyhouse racecourse manager Peter Roe was at a loss to explain.

HRI said in a statement on Tuesday evening: "HRI has reported aspects of Monday’s BBC Panorama documentary concerning the horse Tammys Hill to An Garda Siochana and has sought the assistance of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine in respect of allegations in the programme regarding the transport of horses from Ireland to Swindon in 2019-2020."
