There have been 12-1 and 40-1 winners for Britain at Galway - here is the lowdown on the six raiders on the final day

Dave Loughnane and Richard Fahey have trained 12-1 and 40-1 winners at the Galway festival this week. Here we highlight the six British-trained runners on the final day of the meeting this afternoon . . .
Apiarist
Race 4.00 Galway (Ahonoora Handicap)
Trainer Kevin Ryan
Jockey Ronan Whelan
Form figures 2161038
Forecast SP 14-1
Spotlight view Balance of recent form has been over a mile but did win over this trip at Southwell last winter; returned from a break with creditable staying on eighth of 27 in Buckingham Palace Handicap at Ascot, after not clearest of runs; more needed.
Persuasion
Race 4.00 Galway (Ahonoora Handicap)
Trainer David and Nicola Barron
Jockey Chris Hayes
Form figures 0-71874
Forecast SP 14-1
Spotlight view Five-time winner at this trip including at Musselburgh in April; not at same level since though recent Epsom fourth a step in the right direction, despite not clear run; needs to find more.
Partisan Hero
Race 4.00 Galway (Ahonoora Handicap)
Trainer Dave Loughnane
Jockey Declan McDonogh
Form figures 3112212
Forecast SP 10-1
Spotlight view Front-runner in good form on the all-weather and he's continued the good work back on turf, winning at Pontefract and Epsom (Friday's Goodwood winner Rhoscolyn third, Persuasion fourth); no disgrace when second to an improver over 6f at former venue latest; will need to break well from this wide draw.
This Farh
Race 5.00 Galway (1m½f handicap)
Trainer Dave Loughnane
Jockey Declan McDonogh
Form figures 1571233
Forecast SP 8-1
Spotlight view Made all in first-time cheekpieces at Lingfield (7.6f, good) in May and he's backed that up with three solid placed efforts over 7f on turf; probably needs to improve to play major role but well-drawn; yard among the winners here this week.
American State
Race 5.00 Galway (1m½f handicap)
Trainer Patrick Owens
Jockey Seamie Heffernan
Form figures 553317
Forecast SP 14-1
Spotlight view First four runs were on the all-weather before improvement on turf debut when making most to win 1m Newbury handicap in June (good); again positively-ridden at Windsor last time when towards rear (although beaten under 2l): not the best of draws for a front-runner though jockey has been in fine form making the pace here this week.
American Empire
Trainer Donald McCain
Jockey Toby McCain-Mitchell (7)
Form figures 331-
Forecast SP 25-1
Spotlight view Improved on previous two bumper efforts to land three-runner Market Rasen affair in April (good) for Don Cantillon; following month realised £25,000 at Goffs UK Spring Sale; this looks a tough ask on yard debut.
Which British runner has the best chance?
By Richard Birch, tipster
Partisan Hero has proved a model of consistency for Dave Loughnane this summer, and was unfortunate to bump into Rare Change at Pontefract on a day when everything went right for the winner.
He remains feasibly treated, and holds strong each-way claims in the Ahonoora Handicap (4.00) for a trainer who has already been successful at the meeting.
