'It's almost as if this race were invented for him and he's actually underrated now - I can't believe he's 16-1'

The sport's top judges answer the key Cheltenham Festival questions. Next up, it's deputy Ireland editor David Jennings

What's the best bet of the meeting?

It has now got to the stage where Caldwell Potter is actually underrated. His price tag means he will never live up to the hype but there is no way he should be 16-1 for the Jack Richards Novices' Handicap Chase. His three runs for Paul Nicholls are not half as bad as they are made out to be and, if it's soft ground for the Thursday of Cheltenham, I could see him going off 8-1 or shorter. He'll never win a Gold Cup, but he's well up to winning a handicap off 147. It's almost as if this race were invented for him.

Can anything stop Constitution Hill in the Champion Hurdle?

Brighterdaysahead can. I'm not saying she will, but she's got a chance if he's not close to his best. He needs to bring his A-game.
