Bryony Frost taken to hospital after being stood on in Newton Abbot fall
Last season's leading female jump jockey Bryony Frost has been taken to Torbay Hospital for further assessment after sustaining a sore abdomen when unseated from long-time leader Billy My Boy at Newton Abbot on Friday afternoon.
Frost appeared to become unbalanced when her mount dived left two out in the 2m2½f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle and she was belatedly unseated before being trodden on by the chasing Nabhan.
She was quickly attended by course medical staff and eventually walked away before being taken by ambulance to hospital.
Her father Jimmy said: "Bryony is in quite a lot of pain as she was stood on in the abdomen area by one of the chasing horses after she was unshipped. I understand thay are taking her to nearby Torbay Hospital for scans and further assessment."
