Punter turns £20 into almost £100,000 with audacious Friday night multiple
'This has to go down as one of the best bets we've seen in recent years'

Friday night's racing at Southwell produced an evening to remember for one Ladbrokes punter, who turned £20 into almost £100,000 after landing an audacious multiple.
The punter, based in St Helens, took aim at the second-half of the Southwell all-weather card and did not miss, winning £96,578 over the course of the final four races.
They staked two bets, a £1 Lucky 15, consisting of four singles, six doubles, four trebles and one four-fold, and a £5 win four-fold, with none of the selections going off as favourite.
However, the bet nearly went awry at the first opportunity as 2-1 favourite Legal Reform looked set to successfully make all in the 7f feature handicap, only to be run down in the final strides by 14-1 chance Dutch Kingdom, who won by a short head.

King Of Fury followed up the winning first leg with a 12-1 success by a neck in another 7f handicap before Toby Tops (6-1) claimed a staying handicap. It was left to 10-1 shot Sevensees to seal a memorable Friday night for the punter, making all in the 5f handicap under Warren Fentiman to gamely see off favourite Moulin Booj by a head.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Our plucky punter truly has put the luck in Lucky 15 here. You'll do well to find a closer finish than Friday night's 7.00 at Southwell. And while there was still a long way to go in the bet at the time, that short-head victory for Dutch Kingdom ended up being the £95,000 difference maker for our customer.
"To land the Lucky 15 to the tune of £21,500 was one thing, but to back the 15,000-1 four-fold with a fiver on top – coupled with that early drama – means this has to go down as one of the best bets we've seen in recent years."
