James Davies eyeing weekend return
Jump jockey James Davies, who has spent the last two months on the sidelines after injuring his shoulder at Chepstow, hopes to return to action this weekend.
Davies was hurt when Major Hindrance was brought down in a handicap chase at Chepstow on November 22, partially dislocating his shoulder among other injuries.
The 33-year-old started riding out last week and will engage agent Russ James in the hope of picking up some rides.
He said on Thursday: "I went to Oaksey House this morning and did some tests – press-ups and on the Equicizer – and I got the green light.
"I've ridden out for the last week and a half and it all seems strong and stable, so I'm ready to crack on."
"On Sunday at Fontwell, Henry Oliver has one [Keel Haul] and Tom Symonds could also have one. Bits and pieces, nothing definite because I wasn't sure I'd get passed, so I'll get my agent Russ James to get on the ball."
