April showers will dictate if the prolific First Flow runs again this season after his "blinding" effort in the Queen Mother Champion Chase at the Cheltenham Festival this month.

Connections feared the left-handed circuit at Cheltenham would be against the nine-year-old, who has won ten of his 19 starts, and so it proved as his jumping lacked its usual fluency.

With that in mind, the Tony Solomons-owned gelding, who was brilliant when making his Grade 1 breakthrough in January's Clarence House Chase at right-handed Ascot, emerged with credit when running on to finish sixth, beaten six and a half lengths by Put The Kettle On.
