Amazing Maria added to the field for Joel Stakes

Amazing Maria is a top-priced 10-1 with Betfred after being supplemented for the Shadwell Joel Stakes at Newmarket on Friday.

Connections have paid £10,000 to add the David O'Meara-trained five-year-old - winner of two Group 1s last season but unable to hit those heights this term - to the Group 2 contest over a mile.

The race will be used as a stepping-stone for a trip to the Breeders' Cup at Santa Anita in November.
