Altior could run over Christmas but King George tilt unlikely until next year

Altior powers clear under Nico de Boinville to win the Tingle Creek ChaseCredit: Edward Whitaker
Nicky Henderson has set the sport's outstanding two-mile chaser Altior on course for a tilt at the 32Red King George VI Chase – but not until 2019.
Altior still holds an entry for the Christmas classic on Boxing Day but Henderson repeated his view that it would be wrong to field last weekend's Tingle Creek Chase victor in the three-mile winter championship at this stage of his career.
