Adam Wedge suffers fractured shoulder blade and bruised lung in Bangor fall
Adam Wedge suffered a fractured shoulder blade, broken ribs and a bruised lung in a wince-inducing fall at Bangor on Saturday, but the rider is hoping to be back in action in just four to six weeks.
Wedge spent the night in Wrexham Maelor Hospital after suffering the injuries when the Sheila Lewis-trained Change Ur Tune fell in the 3m handicap chase.
Speaking on Sunday morning, Wedge said: "Hopefully they'll let me out this morning, they seem happy enough with everything.
"I've a bruised lung and have done a few ribs, but it's a basic fracture to the shoulder blade so it should only be four to six weeks. It's the quietest time for us, so if it had to happen this is the best time so we're fine, we're all good."
