Rock tears up script with late blast

The Lennox Stakes at Glorious Goodwood appeared to be going to script, with favourite Limato fighting it out with Home Of The Brave deep inside the final furlong and the former was backed down to 1.5. However, Breton Rock tore it up, coming from last place with a withering run to get up in the final strides after £7 was traded on him at the ceiling 1,000 on Betfair.
Punters who were shrewd enough to back Expert Eye at bigger than 4 (SP 7-4) before the Vintage Stakes at Goodwood probably couldn’t believe their luck as they ended up on one of the easiest winners of the season. Sir Michael Stoute’s colt sauntered past his rivals a long way out to stamp himself the most exciting juvenile seen in Britain this season.
Big Orange was backed at 1.68 as Frankie Dettori tried to outclass his rivals from the front in the Goodwood Cup, but the writing was on the wall 2f out and he faded into second.
