Using the Racing Post's unrivalled bank of stats, we pick out three horses to back tonight based on trainer form, RPRs and, tonight's wild card, a notable trainer-jockey combination

Trainer form

Kosciuszko
7.45 Newbury
Angle: John Gosden is the in-form trainer in Britain, boasting a 47 per cent strike-rate over the past two weeks

Before racing on Thursday John Gosden had sent out 17 winners from 36 runners over the last fortnight, advertising his stable as the most in-form in Britain.

The trainer saddles this son of Australia, who won a Sandown novice as a two-year-old last September and holds an entry to the Group 2 Great Voltigeur at York.

Ratings

Loving Pearl
7.05 Epsom
Angle: Joint-second on Adjusted RPRs and legitimate grounds to expect an improvement in form

Things have not gone to plan for this John Berry-trained three-year-old in 2019, as she's finished down the field on both starts.

However, Loving Pearl did show promise for Ralph Beckett last season and an upturn in form would be no surprise, with the longer trip and a sound surface sure to suit.

Wild card

Across The Sea
8.50 Newbury
Angle: PJ McDonald's excellent record riding for James Tate in 2019

McDonald and Tate have scored with their last four runners together and have operated at a strike-rate of 38 per cent this season.

They have another good chance with Across The Sea, who finished seventh at Nottingham last time but looks well treated here.

The Saeed Manana-owned three-year-old has not won since getting off the mark at Ffos Las last August off a mark of 69 and is well placed to strike off just 2lb higher this evening.
