Sharks' attack should scare visitors
Middlesex batsmen set for tough trip
Sussex v Middlesex
Sky Cricket, 7pm Friday
At the halfway point of the T20 Blast group stage, Sussex and Middlesex have ground to make up in the South section.
The pair meet at Hove in the televised clash and Sussex are 11-10 outsiders although prices are liable to change as Middlesex were also in action on Thursday night, hosting Essex.
The Sharks merit a small bet at the prices with England Twenty20 fast bowler Tymal Mills fit again and youngster Jofra Archer claiming 4-18 and 1-26 in his last two outings.
Spinner Danny Briggs, who was briefly on England’s radar, and Chris Jordan, a more established international, add quality to the bowling attack and Sussex blew a great chance to claim their second win of the season in Sunday’s tie with Kent.
A top four of Chris Nash, Luke Wright, Ross Taylor and Laurie Evans has great potential and Sussex’s bowlers should trouble an underperforming Middlesex top order.
The men from Lord’s had lost four of their six completed games before last night’s meeting with Essex and one of their wins was by a one-wicket margin against Surrey, when they lost six wickets for 20 runs in a nervy chase.
Dismal Durham’s quest to end a run of six straight defeats takes them to impressive Leicestershire and the Jets are 2-1 outsiders.
Glamorgan, advised at 11-10 by Racing Post Sport to beat Gloucestershire on Tuesday, look underrated once again for their home game against Surrey.
Both have nine points in the South Group but Glamorgan’s charge has been disrupted by three washouts, including a game against Somerset in which they were handily placed at 171-5 off 17.2 overs.
The Welsh county have won three of their four completed matches, including this week’s excellent 25-run win over a competitive Gloucestershire side.
South Africa’s David Miller marked his debut with a 33-ball half-century and compatriots Jacques Rudolph and Colin Ingram are also in sparkling batting form.
Surrey have passed 160 in only one of their last four Blast matches – and on that occasion they failed to defend a target of 206 against Kent at The Oval.
