'When you’re in this sort of form, everything falls right' - Monsieur Patat extends purple patch for Adrian Wintle

Trainer Adrian Wintle continued his flying form when Monsieur Patat won the opening 6f handicap on a card littered with non-runners, 24 horses being withdrawn across the seven races.
Finley Marsh guided the eight-year-old to an ultimately comfortable two-length victory, but they had to work for it after a bump with Papabella coming out of the stalls left them at the rear of the field.
Gloucestershire-based Wintle, who has now had eight winners from 24 runners in the past fortnight, said: “They went quite fast and that played into our hands. When you’re in this sort of form, everything falls right and it has done today.
“When you’re having winners, you want more, and when you’re absolutely flying, you’re just worried about when you’re going to hit the brick wall and it’s all going to stop.”
Hannon double
The four non-runners in the other 6f handicap included Durham Castle, who had been trading as the 9-4 favourite, and that opened the door for Circe to strike.
She completed a quickfire double for Pat Dobbs and Richard Hannon following Great's win in the 6f maiden.
Socialite stays on best
Socialite bumped into top-class milers last year and made the most of contesting his first handicap with a two-length success under Jason Watson.
The Charlie Hills-trained four-year-old had finished behind Lockinge Stakes one-two Lead Artist and Dancing Gemini on his previous start at Goodwood in August.
