'We think highly enough of her' - Karl Burke unleashes another classy juvenile as Pearl Fortune sets up possible Group race targets

In-form trainer Karl Burke is looking forward to testing exciting juvenile Pearl Fortune in classier company following her debut victory in the 5f novice contest.
The filly justified 6-4 favouritism as she stretched five lengths clear inside the final furlong under Clifford Lee. She completed a rapid double for the trainer, having landed the opening 7½f nursery with the Sam James-ridden Dunkeld Dreamer.
Pearl Fortune, who is a half-sister to seven winners including Ventura Storm, was cut to 20-1 (from 50) by Unibet for the Lowther Stakes at York on August 21 following her success.
Speaking to Racing TV, Burke said: "We'll see how she comes out of this and I'll have a word with her owners too. We made the Lowther entry a little while ago, so we thought highly enough of her to do that and hopefully her work will tell us. It's a little bit tight to get another run in before then, but it's not impossible."
The pair contributed to Burke’s red-hot 31 per cent strike-rate with two-year-olds on turf this season.
He added: "There are some lovely horses still to come out and we've just had a batch of horses come in for the second half of the season. Some lovely big colts have come up and who knows what they can become."
Sax on song
Sax Appeal made all to land the feature 2m handicap under Callum Shepherd for trainer Charlie Johnston.
The five-year-old, last seen finishing fourth on the all-weather at Chelmsford, denied Charging Thunder by a length and three-quarters.
