'We rolled the dice' - Horton chuffed after Orbital Chime gets off the mark

Monday: Redcar
Orbital Chime broke clear to strike on the fifth attempt for James Horton on a day when mudlarks came to the fore due to heavy conditions.
The 15-8 favourite scored by two lengths in the 6f nursery under PJ McDonald after showing promise on his first four starts, including a sixth-placed finish over course and distance last time out.
Horton said: "I thought he ran very well last time and the ground was just too fast for him.
"Obviously the conditions were right today and his dam loved the soft ground, so we rolled the dice and thought he could take his chance. It's great for the dam and great for John [Dance] to have bred another winner."
Royal winner
Odds-on favourite Desert Hero became the third winner for the King and the first at Redcar after he claimed the 1m1f novice stakes under Cieren Fallon.
The William Haggas-trained two-year-old showed greenness throughout and hung right after hitting the front, but following a sharp reminder from Fallon stretched clear for a three-length success.
Crisfords collect
Simon and Ed Crisford maintained their red-hot form with a sixth winner from 14 runners in the last fortnight to bring their strike rate to 43 per cent.
Awaal, who was making his handicap debut, bagged the feature mile contest in the hands of James Doyle, with the son of Lope De Vega thriving in testing conditions to win by over three lengths.
