'We had a bit of a rough patch' – Blue Moon Lady helps trainer Robbie Llewellyn bounce back from lean run

Less than 24 hours after ending his five-month wait for a winner, trainer Robbie Llewellyn was back in the number-one spot when Blue Moon Lady made a successful debut in the 2m fillies’ junior national hunt hurdle.
Llewellyn’s drought was brought to an end at Wincanton on Tuesday courtesy of 40-1 shot Love Of Neymore, who was steered to victory by Charlie Price, and the same rider helped Blue Moon Lady score at significantly shorter odds of 7-2.
Explaining why his first winner at the course was extra special, Price told Racing TV: “I broke her in myself. She jumped and travelled like an old handicapper.”
Price has partnered all five of Llewellyn’s winners this season, which puts the trainer some way behind his breakout campaign last term when he enjoyed a career-best 25 winners.
“We had a bit of a rough patch,” said Price. “Robbie has done a tremendous job at home with the team and it’s been a long few weeks. Things are starting to pick up and it’s given us a massive confidence boost.”
Fabulous Famoso
Famoso followed up successes at Hereford and Wincanton to complete a hat-trick at right-handed courses in the 2m handicap chase.
The eight-year-old, who could possibly go for the four-timer at Hereford on Saturday, contributed to Matt Sheppard emulating his double at this venue last month with the trainer's Moodofthemoment also winning the following 2m4f handicap chase.
Stan Sheppard rode both winners, but he was not eligible for his father’s other runner, Mactavish, who finished fourth in the 2m5f handicap hurdle for female amateur jockeys.
Solar System won that finale to complete a double for JP McManus after Meetmebythesea had earlier made it back-to-back course-and-distance victories in the 2m novice hurdle.
New link-up
Rex Dingle rode his first winner for Emma Lavelle when Tightenourbelts justified 13-8 favouritism in the feature 3m handicap chase.
