Versatile Mixboy enhances reputation with game chase success for Dalgleish

Whatever the race, Mixboy can be trusted to give his all. The front-running grey added a chase win to those over hurdles and on the Flat since the start of October with a gutsy performance in the £15,000 feature contest.

Set a tough task against favourite Knockgraffon, whom he finished 15 lengths behind over course and distance on New Year's Day, Mixboy turned around the form in the 2m4½f handicap chase under a strong ride by Brian Hughes.

Jason Maguire, racing manager to winning owners Paul and Clare Rooney, said: "He's one of Keith Dalgleish's favourite horses and that was brilliant as he tries so hard and is so consistent. He mixes fences and hurdles with running on the Flat, and you wouldn't mind another ten like him."
