So I Told You proving a shrewd purchase for Joseph O'Brien after smooth success

Richard Hughes thought So I Told You was good enough to run in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last year and, while she was only eighth at 100-1, the daughter of Gleaneagles is starting to fulfil her early potential for new trainer Joseph O'Brien.
O'Brien snapped her up for 28,000gns in November and that is already looking like a very shrewd piece of business after she made it two from two for her new yard in the first of the 1m2½f handicaps.
Dylan Brown McMonagle, who continues to be terrific value for his 5lb claim, kept things simple on the evens favourite who was always close to the pace and strode right away in the closing stages to score by five lengths. It would be no surprise to see her aimed at a stakes race by the end of the season.
Deja vu as Social Distance scores again
It was a case of deja vu in the following 1m2½f handicap as Jessica Harrington warmed up for a big weekend at the Curragh by sending out Social Distance to beat Bell Ex One.
It was exactly the same outcome at Roscommon seven days ago, although this time there was only a head between the pair in comparison to a length and a quarter last week.
The 3-1 shot was ridden to victory by Shane Foley who will be on board favourite Lucky Vega in the Tattersalls Irish 2,000 Guineas at the Curragh on Saturday.
Murphy and Carroll double up
Joe Murphy and Gary Carroll teamed up for a 45-1 double with Herb Of Grace running out a comfortable winner of the 6f handicap and Sionnach Eile justifying favouritism in the concluding maiden.
