Sean Levey loses little sweat with front-running quickfire double

Sean Levey landed a quickfire front-running double on Phaedra in the 1m4f handicap and Italica in the 6f maiden.
He was riding Phaedra for the second time on her seventh start and kicked clear on the 2-1 favourite at the two-furlong pole to win eased down by six and a half lengths from All Cost.
Speaking to Sky Sports Racing, Levey said: “It's bottom end, isn't it, and she's very straightforward, so it just made sense to go forward and see what happened.
"As it turned out, I was in front, and nobody wanted to take me on.”
It was also easy for Levey on Italica, who put her experience to good use to win by two and a quarter lengths.
After outperforming market expectations when third in the Lily Agnes at Chester at 40-1, Italica was sent off the 11-8 favourite and winning trainer Tom Dascombe said: “This race looked the easiest possibility, and I was told that we couldn’t beat a couple of them, but we’ve got experience, and that matters so much at this time of year.”
Jordan joy
Jordan WIlliams broke a losing spell stretching back to March with victory on Ultramarine, who was winning for the first time on turf in 25 starts in the 7f handicap.
The jockey, who took off a handy 5lb on the 10-1 shot, said: “I’ve not had a winner for a few weeks now. I just have to keep my head down, keep working hard and hope the opportunities come.”
