Adrian Keatley is enjoying the exploits of Another Baar, who made it four wins on the spin, all achieved in the space of 16 days.

The five-year-old’s rapid rise has seen his rating climb from 69 to 82, but he had no trouble defying his revised mark when running away with the 5f handicap by four lengths.

Just a day after scoring at Brighton on good to firm, he showed his versatility by handling heavy ground at Goodwood with equal ease.

The application of blinkers has sparked the winning streak, and Keatley said: “The blinkers have worked a treat and he’ll go to the Ayr Bronze Cup now with only an 8lb penalty, which is excellent.

“He has plenty of ability, but we weren’t sure if he was using it or not. The blinkers have obviously helped him get that ability out and given him confidence."

Ryan at the double

Rossa Ryan recorded a double on the card when scoring aboard the David Menuisier-trained Lopeo in the mile maiden and Master Vintner in the 1m2f novice.

The Arc-winning jockey, who partnered his 1,000th winner globally, scored aboard 4-1 shot Lopeo in a three-runner contest. He hit the front half a furlong out before stretching two and a quarter lengths clear of the favourite I Can Dance.

Ryan secured his double aboard Master Vintner for Ralph Beckett. The odds-on favourite made his debut in a competitive maiden behind the Aidan O’Brien-trained Scandinavia before switching from Andy Oliver’s yard to Beckett’s, and he made the perfect start for his new trainer.

Ryan said: “He’s still pretty green, he didn’t really know what it’s all about yet. He struggled a bit when I asked him to quicken, he was scrambling for his legs, but then it suddenly clicked.

“He’s going to come on a bundle for that run and could drop into a nice handicap at the back end of the year. He could be dangerous.”
