'Long may it continue' - Heights Of Aran strikes for in-form Keith Dalgleish

Sunday: Hamilton
Keith Dalgleish was the leading trainer at two of the three Scottish Flat tracks last year and he was quick off the mark at Hamilton’s first meeting of the season with Heights Of Aran.
The joint-topweight made virtually all in the 1m½f handicap under James Sullivan and got up by a nose, giving Dalgleish a welcome change of fortune after two seconds and a third earlier on the card.
Speaking to Racing TV, Dalgleish said: “He was a touch green and Jimmy gave him a super ride. I wasn’t sure we’d won crossing the line, so it was nice because we’ve had a couple of seconds. It’s nice to get a winner."
After saddling a treble at Musselburgh on Thursday, Dalgleish is looking to build on a good start to the season.
“They’re running well, long may it continue,” he said. “It’s nice to get these Scottish meetings back on, especially Hamilton being on our doorstep. It’s fantastic to be back."
Detective delivers
Dianne Sayer followed her Thirsk Hunt Cup victory on Saturday with another winner when Detective got his head in front following a string of near-misses.

The six-year-old, who had filled the runner-up position on his previous four starts, prevailed by a neck under Kevin Stott in the 1m3f handicap.
Mitbaahy comes good
The Roger Varian-trained Mitbaahy, who was highly tried as a juvenile, took the feature 5f handicap in comfortable fashion, with favourite and Gimcrack runner-up Gis A Sub a disappointing third of the four runners.
