Trainer Liam Burke seems to have a stable more laden with talent than he has had in many a year, and that was added to on the first day of the three-day Galway autumn meeting as newcomer Gordon Dai Dai made a winning debut in a well-contested bumper.

Ridden by Tom Feeney, the son of Buck's Boum stayed on strongly on the climb to the line to beat good yardsticks Shakespeare's Word and Part Time Farmer by upwards of two-and-three-quarter lengths in pretty good style.

There was a bit of deja vu here too, as trainer, rider and owner William McDonald had teamed up to win with another newcomer Teuchters Glory in a similar bumper here 17 days earlier.
