Jamie Insole dreaming of nice future for winning juvenile who is 'not your typical sharp two-year-old'

Jamie Insole believes Special Dividend could have a nice future after he ran out an impressive debut winner in the 6f novice.

Sent off the even-money favourite, the two-year-old Ardad colt pulled clear by four and a quarter lengths under Hollie Doyle despite showing signs of greenness.

The 58,000gns yearling is closely related to stablemate Dividend, a 95-rated three-year-old who finished an honourable fourth in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot last week.

Insole, who trains with Richard Newland, said: "We know the family well, we have the three-part brother Dividend who has done really well for us. This is a much bigger and stronger horse than where Dividend was last year.

"I didn't want to risk running him on quick ground first time out and it was a nice introduction on the all weather, he did everything we hoped he would. 

"Hollie said he got a little bit lonely at front and she went all the way down to the back of the back straight, she couldn't pull him up. I think he'd have won a bit further if he had anything around him."

Special Dividend was a fourth juvenile winner of the year for the stable and Insole added: "He's not your typical small sharp two-year-old, he's a big scopey horse and weighs over 500kg.

"He's the wind of it now and we don't want to push him too early – he could be really nice for us."

Probert double

David Probert was among the winners on the card, partnering Queue Dos to land the 6f handicap before Pursuit Of Truth broke his maiden by a neck in the 1m1½f handicap.
