Six-horse trainer Justin Landy got the better of six-time champion Nicky Henderson when Do No Wrong ran out an 11-length winner of the 3m½f handicap chase under Brian Hughes.

The nine-year-old was following up a recent point-to-point win at Witton Castle when scoring from favourite Bective Abbey, registering his second win over course and distance.

Landy was full of praise for Hughes, who ironically enjoyed one of his finest moments last season when guiding Doddiethegreat to success for Henderson in the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival.

The trainer told Sky Sports Racing: "He'd run here once and won, but having Brian ride for an outfit like us is like having Matt Le Tissier rocking up for a non-league side – it's just that bit of class.

"He also rode Express Run to finish third for us at Kelso last week – that horse can't breathe and he's booked in for a wind operation, but Brian nearly got him there. We're delighted to be able to get book him in the summer."

It was a tough day for favourites, with none of the market leaders striking in any of the six races.

Great Road

Henry Hogarth has managed four wins with former Paul Nicholls runner Flic Ou Voyou, and Beny Nahar Road made it two successes since making the same trainer switch with victory in the opening 2m handicap chase.
