'It's a long time since we've had a win' - owner 'over the moon' after first success in more than two years

Tommy Cullen provided delighted owner Jane May with her first success in more than two years when striking in the 2m½f handicap chase.
The seven-year-old, who had given May her last success when scoring in a novice hurdle at this course in December 2022, confirmed his liking for the track, winning for the first time since joining Matt Crawley by a comfortable four and a quarter lengths.
"It's so lovely, it's a long time since we've had a win," May told Sky Sports Racing. "He's a very brave horse. He didn't like the course [Huntingdon] last time, the [soft] ground wasn't correct, but he loves Doncaster."
Crawley was also ending a long wait for a winner, with his sole success in this sphere coming when Taxus Baccata landed a Uttoxeter bumper in April last year.
"We're over the moon for the trainer because it's his first over jumps, but I would like to thank Charlie Longsdon for getting him for us, which was very nice," the winning owner added.
"Matt is marvellous with the horses, he lives and breathes them. We have seven with him now. He looks after them so well and he's so dedicated."
Double delight
Nicky Henderson took two runners to the South Yorkshire venue and came away with a double after James Bowen-partnered wins for Calimystic in the 2m3½f novice hurdle and Jukebox Fury in the 3m½f handicap hurdle.
