'I'm looking forward to going back' - owner Syder cheers on One For You remotely

Owner Tim Syder cannot wait to return to the racecourse next week and had reason to celebrate from home when watching One For You land the feature 2m7f handicap hurdle.
Syder owns One For You with Cheltenham racecourse chairman Martin St Quinton, and the Philip Hobbs-trained six-year-old took his handicap record to 2-2 when a gritty half-length winner under Tom O’Brien.
There is plenty for Syder to look forward to at Aintree, with Betway Bowl hope Clondaw Castle, also owned by John French, Sharon Nelson and David McDermott, and Topham Chase contender Springtown Lake set for the Randox Grand National meeting.
Syder said: “I’m retired and racing is a good deal of my life, so I'm really looking forward to going back next week. It’s great to go there as owners, but it will never be the same until crowds are back. I miss seeing the familiar faces, speaking about our horses and having a bit of fun, but hopefully it’s not too far away."
On the winner, he added: “One For You has a great attitude, which is half the battle, and there’s plenty to work on with him. He was owned by the Rooneys and unraced when they decided to focus on the Flat, so Philip recommended him and we went in. It’s looking a better decision now than it was a couple of races ago!”
Syder also has horses with Olly Murphy, including the unbeaten Washington, and the trainer and Aidan Coleman enjoyed a treble on the card with Here Comes McCoy, Made For You and Doctor Ken.
