Mr Zippi made it two quick wins when striking again for Sara Ender in the 1m6f handicap, just ten days after his first success on the all-weather.

Ridden by Jonny Peate, the six-year-old travelled behind the leaders before pouncing on the turn for home and drawing three lengths clear of Late Claim.

Successful last time at Newcastle as a 28-1 chance, he returned at odds of 17-2 having relished the extra stamina test.

Ender said: “He’s been so well at home and his work has been very good, so it wasn’t unexpected. I’m absolutely delighted that he seems to be back to his best.

“We thought he might improve for the step up in trip because he settles quite well these days. The only stumbling block was whether the race might come too soon, but we’ve had the all-weather bonus in mind for December, so we felt we had to go for it.

"He's had a few niggles and a few little problems, nothing major, but it's just been a bit frustrating. He's always worked well, and we've always thought quite a lot of him, so it's nice for him to actually show what he can do now."

Fifty up for Keenan

Darragh Keenan notched his 50th winner of the year when landing division one of the mile handicap on the Lemos De Souza-trained Ribston Pippin.

The rider has comfortably eclipsed his previous best tally of 38 winners, set in 2022.
