Alice Haynes and Kieran O'Neill's partnership is thriving and the pair celebrated a wide-margin winner when Risen Again landed the 1m2f handicap.

The four-year-old dominated the race, making the running and stretching clear of the 15-8 favourite Dragonflame to win by six and a half lengths. It was the 7-1 shot's first win for the yard having left James Ferguson in November.

"We thought on his homework that he had plenty up his sleeve," Haynes said. "He's a horse that lacks a little bit of confidence but everything went right today. What we saw today is what he shows us at home. It will do his confidence good and he can creep up and step up again."

Haynes was keen to praise O'Neill, who was completing a double after success on Shaw Park in the 7f handicap for Nottinghamshire trainer Scott Dixon.

She said: "He knows the horses well and we have a good relationship. I don’t have to give him instructions, I just give my opinion of how the ride might turn out. He's riding really great."

Dixon himself saddled a double when Light Up Our Stars won the concluding mile handicap under Taryn Langley.

Pelean strikes at 33-1

Such is their reputation, it's not often John and Thady Gosden have 33-1 winners, but the training combination struck at that price when Pelean landed the 6f fillies' novice stakes.

Cheveley Park Stud's filly shot two and a quarter lengths clear of Sunlit Uplands to break her maiden under Robert Havlin.
