'He's been a superstar' - Ebor festival next for Lion Tower after feature win

Saturday: Redcar
Grant Tuer has his eyes set on the Clipper Logistics Handicap at York's Ebor festival for his "superstar" Lion Tower, who landed another valuable pot for the trainer in the feature 7f handicap.
The five-year-old, who won the £40,000 JCB Handicap at York in June, travelled well throughout, hitting the front with a furlong to go before holding on by half a length from the William Haggas-trained favourite Golden Voice.
"He's been a superstar for us. That's his second win this year and a career-high mark for him, so I'm thrilled," said Tuer.
"We didn't know how good Mr Haggas's horse was but we're a battle-hardened handicapper and it's tough for those three-year-olds who have been competing against their own age group. We were fairly confident he'd win."
Lion Tower has been to York three times this season, winning once and finishing in the places on the other two occasions all under winning jockey Sam James, so Tuer is confident everything should be in his favour at the Ebor festival.
"He's entered in the Clipper Logistics Handicap at the Ebor festival, so he'll head there next. Seven furlongs may be his best trip but I'm always convinced a mile is. Everything should be okay for him. He does well there, he likes to be up front and roll along."
James doubled up with victory in the 5f classified stakes on Aconcagua Mountain, who was having a first start for trainer Iain Jardine after moving from Ireland.
Shock success
Finbar's Lad caused a shock in the 7f maiden stakes after getting up by a head under James Sullivan at 40-1. The Eric Alston-trained three-year-old's only start had come in a 6f novice in which he was 11th of 12, beaten almost 28 lengths.
