John Egan was left kicking himself after picking up a ten-day ban for dropping his hands and losing second place on the line on Athletic in the 1m handicap won by Polymnia.

It is a cardinal sin for a jockey and one Egan has always felt is inexcusable. It was the first time he has done it in 30-odd years in the saddle, and although there were mitigating circumstances he held his hands up and accepted the blame.
