Egan experiences the big-race buzz with Mishriff - in more ways than one

The euphoria of a first domestic top-level winner shone through for jockey David Egan in his post-race interviews, but there was a buzz of a different kind he had to contend with when answering questions.
Tucked in the top of his breeches, Egan’s phone was on silent but vibrating away as he provided his thoughts on his biggest success in Britain – and the man on the other end was a very proud father.
John Egan had been on course for Mishriff’s big wins in the Saudi Cup at Riyadh and Sheema Classic at Meydan, but had to watch from afar as the 53-year-old was booked for two rides at Kempton on Wednesday evening.
