David Egan completes full set of tracks in Britain with victory for Amo Racing

David Egan completed the full set of winners at Flat tracks in Britain when enjoying a first success at Catterick aboard 7f novice scorer Monsieur Fudge.
Egan rode two seconds at the North Yorkshire venue on the final day of his champion apprentice season in 2017 and was pleased to tick off his last remaining course.
He said: “It’s taken a while but it’s nice to get it done. I mentioned it to someone when I came back in and it was going around the weighing room but Dougie Costello soon put me in my place and said ‘Come back to me when you’ve ridden a winner at every Flat and jumps track!’”
The George Scott-trained Monsieur Fudge was gelded after his previous run in October and sported blinkers for the first time when scoring by two lengths.
Egan said: “We had a nice trip round and he was a willing partner. The slight ease in the ground suited him and everything was in his favour. This was a step in the right direction and a win can give a horse a lot of confidence.”
In-form trainer
Liam Bailey continued his fine recent run with a third winner from 11 runners in the last fortnight courtesy of Stroxx in the 5f apprentice handicap.
The Foulrice Park Racing-owned sprinter improved on his close second at Musselburgh last week to provide Cian Horgan with his first winner in Britain by a head. He rode 21 winners in Ireland before joining David O’Meara this year.
Double up
Tim Easterby enjoyed a double courtesy of Barmyblade in the 5f handicap under Jimmy Sullivan and the Sean Kirrane-ridden Mister Sox in the 6f handicap.
