Tom Dascombe has a history of unleashing his top juvenile talent at the course and anyone who latched onto that trend was in the money as Jonah Jones and Drogon claimed the two novice contests in good style.

The Malpas-based trainer, who gave subsequent Royal Ascot winner Arthur Kitt his debut at the course in May, returned to familiar territory with a pair of colts having their second starts after finishing third on debut.

The similarities did not end there. Jonah Jones and Drogon, both ridden by Richard Kingscote, turned around the form by improving past horses who had finished in front of them first time up.
