Chosen Mate to bypass Cheltenham and wait for Aintree following Grade 2 success

Aintree, rather than Cheltenham, beckons for Chosen Mate, who clung on by a nose to win the feature Grade 2 Paddy Power Onside App Novice Hurdle.
Ridden by Davy Russell, Chosen Mate just lasted home from the fast-finishing Hannon, who was cut to 25-1 (from 50) by bet365 for the JCB Triumph Hurdle.
Trainer Gordon Elliott said of the winner: "He's in the three novice hurdles at Cheltenham but he won't be going there. We'll keep him for Aintree."
