Another extraordinary feat for Willie Mullins - this time at Fairyhouse where he has the 1-2-3-4-5 in a Grade 2

Another day, another extraordinary feat for Willie Mullins. A day after his astonishing Aintree heroics when sending out four of the first five home in the Randox Grand National, the Closutton colossus had the 1-2-3-4-5 in the Grade 2 Donohue Marquees Novice Hurdle.
They did not finish in market order, though, as 5-1 shot Irancy proved too good for odds-on favourite Karniquet and turned around the form from their meeting in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle at Cheltenham last month.
On that occasion, Karniquet was fourth and beaten only 11 lengths by Kopek Des Bordes, whereas Irancy trailed home 22 lengths further back in seventh.
Mark Walsh was impressed by the winner and said: "He was very good today. Things just didn't go to plan with him at Cheltenham. He didn't really act on the track and this flatter track suited him way better.
"He has good form. He was third to Firefox and Ballyburn in a maiden hurdle and then won at Punchestown. He's had a few little problems along the way so the main thing now will be just to keep him sound. He should jump a fence no problem."
Deadly Diesel
There was no luck for Grand National-winning jockey Patrick Mullins in the concluding mares bumper as his mount Future Prospect was third behind a very smart sort in Switch From Diesel.
It was, quite incredibly, the six-year-old's 11th run in a bumper and she backed up her Naas success in the style of a seriously talented mare who could be up to contesting Graded races when she does go over hurdles next season.
Ray Barron pressed the button just over a furlong out on the 3-1 shot and the response was instant as Switch From Diesel skipped clear to score by six lengths. Carrigmoornaspruce nosed out Mullins for second.
Winning trainer Ross O'Sullivan said: "She’s a classy filly and she seems to have improved from run to run as the season's gone on. She’s very exciting and she’s probably as good a horse as I’ve had for a while.
"If everything stayed right with her she could be very good next season. The plan is to go to Punchestown and then put her out on summer’s grass and go hurdling next year. She did an extra year in bumpers and Paul [Mullins, owner] was keen to do that. That was his plan and he stuck to it.
"She’s turned into a real happy filly and that was very impressive. She has a high cruising speed and she’ll make a lovely novice mare next year."
Percy prevails
JJ Slevin swooped late on the Joseph O'Brien-trained Mr Percy to win the Grade 2 Paddy Kehoe Ceilings Novice Hurdle at 16-1, gunning down Fleur In The Park in the closing stages to score a shade snugly.
Slevin said: "It’s dry ground and he didn’t mind it. He travelled very well, he missed the last and he’s done well to win. He’s not a bad horse, he’s a decent horse on the Flat. It was a nice bit of placing by the lads so it’s great."
Miracle man Moore
The legendary Arthur Moore was back among the winners thanks to The Miracle Man in the 3m handicap hurdle. Sent off at 11-2, he kept on strongly to deny Topgun Simmy by a length and a quarter.
Moore said: “Mr [Austin] Trappe never has more than one horse. He’s with me 25 years and they’ve all won a race somewhere along the line, this might prove to be the best one.
“He’s a tough horse, he’s from that Carrigeen [Kamala] family and they stay. He seems to like that ground. At one stage I was thinking we might let him off but they wouldn’t be running on faster than that during the summer so we’ll keep him out for a while.”
