At the age of eight, there is no sign that the enthusiasm or indeed the ability of Brendan Brackan is on the wane and further proof was offered with a commanding front-running victory in the Listed Glencairn Stakes.

In the hands of Gary Carroll, who rides him so well, the son of Big Bad Bob added to his victory in the Irish Lincolnshire in March by taking full advantage of a soft lead.

When Carroll kicked him a few lengths clear early in the straight the race was as good as over, and what a race it was for trainer Ger Lyons as stablemate Elusive Heights stayed on to grab second close home.
