£800 bargain buy The Ogle Gogle Man wins for second time in a week

The Ogle Gogle Man battled bravely on testing ground to score for the second time in the space of a week in the 3m½f handicap hurdle.
The nine-year-old, who cost co-owner Kevin Jardine just £800 in December, won at Sedgefield on Sunday and the 16-5 favourite defied a 7lb penalty when finishing a neck clear of Gold Clermont.
"He did that really well after a quick turnaround from Sunday," said trainer Iain Jardine. "He was going mad out in the paddock after his last run. We found this race and knew he was capable of winning.
"I'm delighted for his owner, Kevin. He's a friend of mine who bought him for a song at £800 – I'll have to get him to buy all my horses."
Upsetting the odds
The JP McManus-owned Grand Morning sprung a 20-1 surprise when landing the feature 2m4½f handicap hurdle for Lucinda Russell.
He took the lead approaching the last and stayed on well under Derek Fox to beat Corrieben Reiver by three and a half lengths.
"He appreciated switching back to hurdles on testing ground," Fox told RTV. "He travelled well and has a good record around here."
McManus recorded an across-the-card treble with two victories at Navan courtesy of Randox Grand National hopeful Any Second Now in the Webster Cup and Gars De Sceaux, an easy winner of the 2m7f novice hurdle.
Off the mark
Odds-on favourite Tamar Bridge won for the first time over hurdles when beating his sole rival Bass Rock in the 2m4½ novice hurdle.
The six-year-old, who is co-owned by the McNeill family and cost €60,000 in 2018, won his bumper in December and improved from his third-place finish on debut over hurdles at Wetherby last month.
