Will Fact To File thrive dropping in trip or proven two-milers come to the fore in a Champion Chase cracker?

Only six runners and a purely domestic affair, and yet the William Hill Champion Chase (6.00) is a fascinating contest.

The standard is not in question. The line-up includes the last two Queen Mother Champion Chase winners, two other Cheltenham Festival winners, both from the all-conquering Willie Mullins stable, and a horse bidding for a third Grade 1 victory of the season. 

Perhaps the best starting point is the suitability of the trip for the JP McManus-owned, Willie Mullins-trained Fact To File. He was promoted as a likely Cheltenham Gold Cup candidate following his victory in last season's Brown Advisory, won the John Durkan at this track on his seasonal debut, and was a decisive winner of an Irish-dominated Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival.
