'We've had this in mind for her for quite a while' - Classic fancy Composing a warm order for Goffs Million

This is the fourth year of the Goffs Million and we have yet to have a winning favourite or an Aidan O'Brien-trained winner.
Composing tops the market this time around and could shred both of those statistics, as she bids to get her campaign back on track following a failed hat-trick attempt in the Moyglare Stud Stakes during the Irish Champions Festival.
She was sent off even-money favourite for that Group 1, but folded tamely into fourth behind some lesser-fancied stablemates, having made the early running.
There was a strong headwind that day at the Curragh and Aidan O'Brien feels she may have been compromised by being out in front on her own. It is interesting that the master trainer has wasted no time in sending her back into battle and her official rating of 108 makes her very much the one to beat here.
With Ryan Moore injured and Wayne Lordan on duty at Newmarket, it is a huge day for Ronan Whelan, who comes in for the ride on a filly who has been pushed out to as big as 20-1 for next year's 1,000 Guineas following that Moyglare misfire. That price could plummet with victory here.
The one who is rated closest to Composing is another filly, Green Sense.
A Group 2 winner at Chantilly during the summer, she was third to Power Blue in the Phoenix Stakes when last seen 49 days ago and brings experience and ability to the table. She might lack the class of Composing, though.
The last two winners have been drawn high – 17 and 14 – so that bodes well for Green Sense, who is in stall 22. Composing, in contrast, has stall seven to deal with.
Galeron won the inaugural running of the Goffs Million in 2022 for Charlie Hills and the pick of the British team this year would appear to be the Simon and Ed Crisford-trained Al Shaham, who has an RPR of 86 on his CV from Ripon two starts ago before blotting his copybook back at that venue in the Champion Two Yrs Old Trophy. There were only nine days between those two races so you can forgive him that flop, but this looks a level above him.
If you are seeking something at a price from an each-way angle, the Jack Davison-trained Stop The Nation appeals as he could bag the nearside rail from stall 33 and, with loads of experience in his locker, may outrun his odds.
What they say
Simon Crisford, joint-trainer of Al Shaham
It didn’t go to plan at all at Ripon, where he didn’t run to the same sort of level as he had before. But he’s done well and stepping him up to seven furlongs with a little bit of juice in the ground might just suit him.
Aidan O'Brien, trainer of Dorset and Composing
We don't think you saw the real Composing in the Moyglare. We know she's better than that and we've had our mind on the Goffs Million for her for quite a while. She goes there in really good form. Things just didn't go according to plan for Dorset in the National Stakes, but he's a nice colt who should run well.
Jack Davison, trainer of Stop The Nation
I'm happy with the draw, happy with the horse and would be very happy to pick up a chunk of the prize-money. These are big events, these sales races, and I'm really looking forward to it with this guy.
Donnacha O’Brien, trainer of Spinning Around
Obviously, it looks like a very good race with a big field, so we will need a bit of luck. Hopefully, she can pick up some prize-money.
