Jessica Harrington runs two in this Listed contest and although Norwalk Havoc is a viable contender, the star of the show is Green Impact, who will attempt to build on his reappearance sixth in the 2,000 Guineas at Newmarket last month.

Green Impact didn’t appear to handle the Dip that day and returning to the more familiar surroundings of Leopardstown, the scene of his two victories last season, he has an attractive profile for this race.

The son of Wootton Bassett has strong two-year-old form courtesy of his victories over Derby favourite Delacroix, the second of which came in the Group 2 Champions Juvenile Stakes on Irish Champions Weekend. Although the form of the Harrington yard raises doubts, green shoots are starting to signal the stable is back on an even keel.

Stable form is not a worry for Paddy Twomey, though, as he's operating at a 36 per cent strike-rate in the last 21 days. He runs Currawood, who has two and a quarter lengths to find with the likely favourite from their debuts last season.

Currawood has shown improvement this season, the standout performance being his comfortable Cork success on soft ground where he had recent Gowran Classic winner Green Triangle back in third.

Bravais was a smart horse when trained by Andre Fabre in France, having been placed at Group 2 and Listed level around this sort of trip. He showed little when he returned from a 560-day layoff on his debut for Ger Lyons at Naas, but his subsequent win over 7½f at Tipperary was much improved.

Going update

Following 8mm of rain on Tuesday night, the going is good. There's an unsettled forecast with showers.

What they say

John Nallen, trainer of Cristal Clere
On paper he looks to have little chance, but he runs well at Leopardstown. He'll likely improve on his last run. I don’t think he likes big-field handicaps so this was the next available opportunity.

Noel Meade, trainer of Layfayette
The distance is a bit short but we don’t have many options. Any rain would be a help, but he's in good form.

Paddy Twomey, trainer of Currawood
He's in good form and has been progressive all year. This looks a logical next step.

Andy Slattery, trainer of Eastwatch
He was impressive at Gowran and is stepping up a lot in class, but his work suggests he’s ready for it.
