Expensive Amo Racing juvenile makes debut at Hamilton and Irish Oaks entry bids to make mark in Gowran maiden

Punting pointers for Sunday's meetings in Britain and Ireland

Doncaster: 'Big run' expected as Homestrait tries to build on formlines

Homestrait came up against fellow Nick Bradley Racing-owned fillies on her first two starts before filling the runner-up spot again at Catterick last time. Victorious Racing took a strong view of that formline, as Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa's operation bought the winner, Gaga Mate, for £300,000.

Saucy Jane, who was four and three-quarter lengths ahead of Homestrait at Beverley last month, has been fourth and sixth in Listed races at York and Chantilly since. Homestrait aims to end her seconditis in the 7f fillies' maiden (3.00).

Bradley said: "There was a £50,000 bonus at Catterick, so that's why we went there. We felt we had all the others beaten apart from the newcomer, who looked pretty good.

"Homestrait didn't like the track, which we knew going into it, and I'm amazed she ran so well over five furlongs as she needs further. She was second behind two of ours we like quite a lot and she'd run so well on ability alone.

"This should be her trip and we're hopeful of a big run."

Ten of Sheikh Mohammed Obaid Al Maktoum's 30 runners trained by George Boughey have won and their newcomer Artanis has to be respected.

Downpatrick: Swan out to continue good month on Elliott's No More Silver

Amateur jockey Harry Swan has won at three tracks this month and has just one ride at Downpatrick on Sunday, which faces a 7.30am inspection after downpours caused yesterday's meeting to be called off waterlogged.

He rides the Gordon Elliott-trained No More Silver in the 2m2f bumper (5.20) as she tries to build on her recent debut fifth at Ballinrobe.

Swan, who has already won twice at Downpatrick this season, won on his two most recent mounts at Sligo on Tuesday and Worcester on Thursday.

Gowran Park: Irish Oaks entry Etawa bids for first success

Etawa is entered in next month's Juddmonte Irish Oaks but the Dermot Weld-trained daughter of Kingman is dropping slightly in trip from her first two starts to contest the 1m1½f fillies' maiden (4.40).

From the family of last year's Oaks heroine Ezeliya, Etawa was third behind Catalina Delcarpio on her debut in a 1m2f fillies' maiden at Leopardstown in April. The winner chased home subsequent Oaks fourth Wemightakedlongway on her next outing, so the form looks solid.

Etawa was sent off odds-on over the same track and trip second time out but managed only third to the Aidan O'Brien-trained Butterfly Wings. The winner has been well beaten in both starts since.

Hamilton: 550,000gns Amo yearling purchase makes debut

Vincenzo Peruggia cost Amo Racing 550,000gns at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale and makes his debut in the 6f novice (3.45). The son of Lope De Vega is a half-brother to Siamsa, who was placed in Listed company as a juvenile for Richard Hannon.

Named after an Italian-born decorator who stole the Mona Lisa from the Louvre in 1911, Vincenzo Peruggia takes on four rivals including Big Fun, who outran odds of 20-1 to finish second on his debut at Pontefract last month.

Vincenzo Peruggia's trainer Charlie Johnston's record for Amo is one winner, one third and two fourths from seven runners.

The other newcomers also hail from major yards, although the Richard Fahey-trained Masai Angel (€80,000) and Karl Burke's Gesayed (80,000gns) had lower price tags.

Salisbury: Watson books in-form apprentice for first time

Ashley Lewis has had four winners from his last five rides and that red-hot run of form has prompted Archie Watson to book the 17-year-old for the first time. Lewis rides Enchanted Way in the 7f apprentice handicap (2.15), in which riders can carry but not use their whips.

Enchanted Way has not run on turf since finishing second in an Epsom maiden last July and Lady Justice, who beat her by half a length on that occasion, was given a rating of 76. Enchanted Way is theoretically well treated off a mark of 64 but she is yet to strike in three starts in handicap company.

Watson also runs Blue Empress in the same race and the Middleham Park Racing-owned three-year-old is 8lb better off than when fourth on her last turf outing at Yarmouth in April once factoring in Poppy Scott's claim.

Salisbury stat: 100 per cent

All three of William Haggas's runners at Salisbury this season have won and the trainer is represented by Mission Possible and Wujjood in the 1m2f novice (4.30).
