Kieran Shoemark could be forgiven for having a love-hate relationship with the Rowley Mile.

A blistering Craven win at the track in the spring on Field Of Gold hinted this could be his breakthrough season at Group 1 level. A lifetime's work had resulted in four wins at the highest level, but there must have been a feeling that number could be matched in 2025. Circumstance was not so kind.

Back at the same course, Shoemark and Field Of Gold were beaten in the Guineas and trainer and rider went their separate ways.
