Can the JP McManus-owned Goodie Two Shoes complete hat-trick in the Group 3 Stanerra Stakes at Fairyhouse?

Goodie Two Shoes has thrived since reverting to the Flat this year after a couple of decent runs over fences, and the versatile six-year-old looks the logical place to start in this Group 3.

Representing Joseph O'Brien, who landed this in 2016, she relished the step up to this 1m6f trip at Gowran Park in May, charging six lengths clear of Fairy Wings, and her stamina came to the fore again when she won His Majesty's Plate at Down Royal last time.

That was a smart performance as she beat La Isla Mujeres, who reached a very useful level last year, and Dallas Star, who had previously chased home Kyprios in the Saval Beg Stakes. Given they were both Listed contests, she has no penalty and should prove tough to beat.

Roger Varian took this in 2021 with Believe In Love, and Santorini Star is this year's British challenger from the William Haggas stable. She impressed when winning a fillies' handicap at Goodwood on her penultimate start, before a slightly below-par effort when fourth in Listed company at Pontefract.

More is needed here, but the quick ground should see her to best effect.

O'Brien's other contender, Lemsairbat, has finished runner-up on her last two starts behind Magical Hope in a Group 3 at Cork and stablemate Uluru at Limerick, where the slow early pace didn't seem to suit. She has a progressive profile and seems ground-versatile, while the extra distance should be fine for her, particularly based on her French form.

Royal Entry is similarly progressive for Paddy Twomey, landing the Ulster Oaks when last seen. She has a bit to do to turn around the form of her Down Royal defeat to Goodie Two Shoes, but she missed the break that day and this trip should be a good fit.

Of those at bigger prices, Drawn To Dream is interesting. She travelled quite well on her stable debut for Ross O'Sullivan at Limerick last month, and the step up in trip should suit based on last year's form.

Going latest

The going was good, good to firm in places on Tuesday, with watering taking place. It is expected to be warm and dry until racing.

What they say

Ross O'Sullivan, trainer of Drawn To Dream
We were very happy with her run at Limerick, it was a nice start back for her. She came out of the race well and the extra two furlongs will definitely suit her. She's pretty versatile on ground and we're hoping the step up in trip can bring about that extra bit of improvement.

Joseph O'Brien, trainer of Goodie Two Shoes and Lemsairbat
Goodie Two Shoes has been progressive and consistent this year. Lemsairbat has got better with every run this year and it would be great if she could get some more black type.

Paddy Twomey, trainer of Royal Entry
She's in good form and has progressed well all season. She's gone from a rating of 82 to 99 over a variety of trips and I think she can progress further.
