'He'd have a good each-way chance' - family renowned for its pointing exploits bidding for Irish Grand National upset

Sean Doyle, best known as a prolific producer of point-to-pointers, will attempt to cause an upset in the Irish Grand National on Easter Monday with his stable star Monbeg Park.

The trainer has produced a number of top-quality horses, including Holywell, The Last Samuri, Invitation Only, American Mike and Willitgoahead, who he sold to Bective Stud before his third-place finish in the Hunter Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, but has had relatively few runners under rules.

Victory in the BoyleSports-sponsored Irish National would be extra special for the family as the horse runs in the colours of Doyle's brother Donnchadh, who is also renowned for his exploits in the pointing sphere.
